I am about to get a mortgage! I am excited and nervous about it at the same time.
Just wanted to share some of my frustration. I have read Dave Ramsey's book The Total Money Makeover and I have listened to the debt free screams that have been done on his show and I want to be there. I do have a little debt from massage school which I hope will be paid off this next year which I wanted to pay off my first year out and between not earning what I thought I would and lack of self discipline it is still around. I know the only thing preventing that is me.
So I am making a commitment and will share my journey from time to time on here. I am going to have my massage school debt paid off by March and I will have my mortgage paid off before I am 40!
These declarations make me have mixed emotions, over all though I am excited for what the next few years will bring. I have been trying to get a control of my money for a while, I know that part of the reason I haven't is because I haven't had accountability for what I am wanting to do and have rationalized purchases with myself which would have been harder to rationalize with someone else. Self discipline is key and accountability helps.
So here I go being real about it and starting out on my journey. Next step is finding a second job where I can put all of the paycheck from it towards paying off debt.

I happened to start blogging again recently. But happened to be looking at my multi blogs and had forgotten that I had this dating blog under a fake name. You were one of the few actually reading the blog I'm pretty sure. Unfortunately I don't have the e-mail anymore linked to that blog so I can't write on it anymore. Pretty funny, I mainly got the idea from some other person who had a dating blog and they had it under a fake name. Hehe. My last roommate ever told me about Dave Ramsey. Now I hear about him all the time. :D
